This image was photographed by Sgt. Harrold as part of the Royal Engineers photographic team on 14-16 April. Before the British departed after their victory, they burned Magdala to the ground and took King Theodore's son back to England. This image is illustrated in the Gernsheims' 'Historic Events 1839-1939', 1960, p. 49.
